 Time & Material Jobs
During the winter months, and especially during this economic down turn I have decided to try some that previously I have only done for well established customers that have been with me for a while. The reason I don't as a normal practice do time and material jobs except for long time customers is that it creates a certain amount of tension between the contractor and the customer. The customer many times will think that the contractor is milking the clock in order to make more money, this is not our practice. So I will outline how I am going to offer this. I charge 425.00 per day, which is 16 man hours per day (2 men x 8 hours), I will be one of those two men.
On materials we supply all the main tools to include ladders,brushes, roller pole etc. The customer is responsible for supplying roller covers, and paint. We recommend using Sherwin-Williams products, we do not use Home Depot, or Lowes brand paints. If we are to pick the paint up you will get it at the price that I pay for it plus a 10% handling fee.
We arrive on the job between 8:00-8:30 am and we leave between 4:00-4:30 pm. We take ONE break, that is a 30 minute lunch. We are efficient in our work. The following is typically what two men can accomplish in an 8 hour work day, of course this is for demonstration purposes only, time will vary.
- Two average sized rooms ( 10x12 ) do some light prep, paint walls two coats. ( no ceilings, no trim, doors, moulding, etc) = one day
- One average sized room (10x12) light prep, paint walls two coats, paint trim one coat (no ceilings)= one day
- Exterior house pressure washing (3000 sq ft) = one day
- Paint an exterior house varies greatly depending on prep needed, but very few homes require more than 5 days
- An invoice will be supplied at the end of each work day with the cost due for that day. Payment is to be made at the end of each work day
- Materials to be reimbursed at the end of each work day
- Wallpaper removal can be time intensive depending on if the walls were prepped correctly before the paper was applied
We supply as many references as you would like. With this payment structure you are getting an experienced paint company to do your painting at a very affordable price. This will allow you to budget for your projects, and do as much at one time as the budget will allow for. This offer may be withdrawn at any time
