What Is Quality and Value To Your
Home?
Definition of Quality -
qual·i·ty (kwl-t) n. pl.
qual·i·ties
- An inherent or distinguishing
characteristic; a property.
- A personal trait, especially a character
trait: “The most vital quality a soldier can possess is
self-confidence” (George S. Patton).
- Superiority of kind: an
intellect of unquestioned quality.
- Degree or grade of excellence:
yard goods of low quality.
- High social position.
- Those in a high social position
Definition of Value -
val·ue (vly) n.
1. An amount, as of goods, services, or money,
considered to be a fair and suitable equivalent for
something else; a fair price or return.
2. A principle, standard, or quality considered
worthwhile or desirable: “The speech was a summons back to
the patrician values of restraint and responsibility”
(Jonathan Alter)
Now I will
speak of what these two definitions mean to Shimmerz.
Quality: When I step foot on a job, I have one thing in
mind. Quality. Quality of materials, quality of service,
quality of professionalism, quality of work performed. There
is no substitute for quality. Any attempt to substitute
quality results in a subpar job for the customer. Quality is
a win/win situation. The customer gets only the very best
service and job. The contractor doing the job gets the
satisfaction of knowing that the job was done right the
first time. A quality job reflects the contractors
commitment to excellence. And a quality job gets referrals
from a happy customer.
Quality is
both an inherent and distinguishing characteristic. For
example when a company manufactures a widget. If it's a
quality widget , then quality was built into the widget, it
wasn't an afterthought. The quality of the widget was built
into it through the process. Every step of the process along
the way was meant to produce a top quality widget. So the
quality of the widget is what distinguishes this particular
widget from the rest.
And so it is
with contracting work, especially paint contracting. Quality
should be built into the process. It should be first and
foremost above all else. Anything else is a waste of money,
and more importantly time.
Now Value,
and what it means to Shimmerz:
Having now known that everything that could be done in the
process to create a high quality job was done. We now come
to how that pertains to the price paid. Up to this point we
have used quality materials, quality workmanship, and
quality service. And as a result of the process we have
achieved together a quality end result.
Now you the
consumer have paid a sum of money for a quality job. You
wanted the job done right the first time, and you wanted it
done in a timely manner. You wanted it started when it was
agreed to start, and you wanted it finished in the allotted
time frame discussed. You have received everything agreed
upon for the agreed upon price. That's value for the dollar.
The end result is something you can be proud of. Not only
that, but the end result is going to last much longer than a
sub par job. Shimmerz offers a full two year warranty on all
material and workmanship. Again, value for the dollar.
One more
word. You will find should I ever quote you a job that
my price runs upper middle of the pack price wise. I am not
always the highest, but I am by no means the lowest either.
But no matter the quote from whomever you decide to get it
from, you can rest assured you can't get a better job at any
price.
